Wertheimer, 69677 Bron Cedex, France. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Sinus venosus defect is a rare cardiac abnormality, provoking an interatrial shunting outside the interatrial septum. Echographic diagnosis is difficult and may require examination by a specialized cardiologist. SUMMARY OF CASE: We report the case of a young woman who presented with repeated episodes of hemiparesis. CONCLUSIONS: Surgical correction of sinus venosus defect led to disappearance of neurological symptoms. Published 31 August 2006 in Stroke, 37(9): 2385-6.
